I found a seat near the window and put down my food. It was a nice view of the oval and the landscape on the other side of the fence. I slowly ate my food and pondered about what I was going to do. I felt as if my life was way too boring, too pointless. But the problem was, I didn't know what I wanted to do.

I would just continue waiting until something comes to me, and then I'll act.

Suddenly, someone tapped me on the back. "Hey, you want to play some soccer?" It was Shin, holding a roughed-up yet still appealing soccer ball. It wasn't like I had anything else I wanted to do, so I agreed. "Yeah." He waited until I finished my food, and the two of us made our way down to the oval. It had been a long time since I last played soccer during lunch time, I always felt somewhat awkward joining in with their games and no one ever directly invited me."Is anyone else here?" I asked, I assumed that it wasn't just going to be me and him. He pointed to a group of boys and several girls. "We've decided to have a big full-scale match today so we need as many people as we can get." It made enough sense to me so I joined up with the big group, most people didn't even acknowledge my addition but it didn't really bother me. I noticed that Teru and his other friends were also here.

"Alright, so we've got twenty three people, do we want to give one side a substitute or does anyone have another idea?" After a brief period of chatter, one of the boys decided to volunteer, "I'll be the referee, my leg's a bit injured anyways." It was the perfect solution, now there were exactly eleven people on each team with a referee. After some debate, it was decided that we would be using a 'captains' system to select the teams. In unorganised, casual matches like this, the 'captains' system was always the best to ensure fair teams, although sometimes it would lead to a bit of embarrassment for those who weren't as good or popular.

The two best soccer players were selected to be captains and they subsequently began choosing their players, basing it off who they believed was the best. I was picked pretty early by Shin, which was because he had seen me play before and knew I was relatively proficient. My entire life I was usually left till the end due to the fact that I was a girl. It was a welcome yet not particularly unexpected surprise. Before long, the last two player who chosen and the teams were finally decided.

Each side was given a little bit of time to decide on relative positions before we made our way onto the soccer pitch. We played a crude 4-4-2 formation, with me being one of the centre-mids. The game began with the words of the umpire and our team kicked off, we passed the ball around a little whilst drawing in some of their players. I noticed that Teru was playing centre-mid on the other team, so our positions were relatively close to each other.

"Chloe!" After a little contest with the opponent player, I passed the ball off to the side and began our push. Many of our players began running up the pitch to stay in line with the ball. We managed to make a few more passes, getting quite close to the goal before it was defended, and the other team started to counter-push. Their defender booted the ball up the field, and it was going to land quite near me. It was me against Teru, I jumped up and got a touch on the ball before it hit the ground. Teru wasn't a soccer player so it wasn't especially hard to get the ball around him. Our teams formation got a little jumbled up by the rapid movement of the play, so I didn't have anyone nearby to pass to. I decided to make my way up the field, weaving past some of the defenders. Just as Shin sprinted ahead in a pass-to-able position, I was struck by a slide tackle causing me to fall to the ground.

They managed to get the ball and the tackle was clean so they played it on. It hurt a little but I slowly got back up and back into the game, one of the girls on the other team came to check up on me, "I'm fine." I said, stretching my arms a little bit.

The other team were now playing with the ball near our goal. I was quite a distance away so I couldn't help them as much as I would've liked. Now all I could do was hope that my defenders would be able to stop them. After a few extremely quick and precise passes, there was a powerful shot at goal, easily passing the keeper and hitting the back of the net. Their striker did a little celebration as we reset the game back into kick off.

We played the ball around off the beginning and passed it around the back. The opponents quickly approached us and began pressuring us immensely, after a few passes, the ball made it to me. I swiftly made a turn around the player marking me and quickly made my way up the field. It was a near identical situation from last time. I made sure to keep strict control of the ball and watch any defenders nearby. Shin was sprinting up the field, I made sure to pass the ball just before he made it past the last defender and he did a brilliant first-touch, controlling the ball under his feet.

He was several metres past the defenders who frantically tried to chase him and before long, he was right in front of the goal. Their keeper ran out and after a collision, the ball was sent out for a corner. We began getting into position as Shin volunteered to take the corner.

The ball flew high and straight into the middle of the box. Several boys jumped up and contested for the ball, but I stayed back. Despite how capable I thought I was at soccer, I was still no match for the boys in terms of physical bulk, so I waited for someone to lose the ball. After a little while the ball was sent out again, this time for a goal kick.

The continued for a few more minutes when it was abruptly ended by the sound of the bell.
