If it had been anyone else today, Gu Huiyan would have expelled Duan Jingtao regardless.

Si Fuqing waved her hand dismissively, “I’ll wander around by myself. You go ahead and take care of your work.”

Gu Huiyan, smiling warmly, sent his student off to the treasure appraisal meeting and then returned to his office.

He held his cup, grinning foolishly for an indeterminate amount of time.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang as the door was flung open.

“Old Gu!” Cai Zhongnian stormed in, his anger palpable. “You shameless old man! How dare you still occupy the teacher’s position? Do you have no sense of shame?”

Gu Huiyan was startled at first, but upon seeing who it was, he relaxed completely. “Well, well, if it isn’t Old Cai. What brings you all the way from Sijiu to Mo City? What’s the rush?”

“Sit down, sit down. I don’t have much to offer, just help yourself to some tea.”

Cai Zhongnian, still fuming, barked, “I don’t want any!”

A middle-aged man followed him in, looking distressed. “Dir-director, I couldn’t stop him, I really couldn’t.”

“It’s not your fault,” Gu Huiyan waved his hand dismissively. “This Cai fellow is always unreasonable. There’s no stopping him.”

Cai Zhongnian was even more infuriated. “What did you just say?!”

He had been preoccupied with numerous medical conferences lately, neglecting to keep an eye on Gu Huiyan, that scheming old fox, and now he was paying the price for it!

Regretting his oversight, Cai Zhongnian was now eager to confront Gu Huiyan.

“Oh, there’s nothing that can be done about it,” Gu Huiyan said leisurely. “And it wasn’t even my idea. It was Fuqing who wanted to be a student of me. How does that make you feel? Well, that’s what you get for being a Cai.”

Cai Zhongnian glared. “Gu Huiyan! You’re shameless!”

Gu Huiyan snorted. “Pfft, I have a disciple now. Who needs dignity? Can you eat dignity?”

Cai Zhongnian was too angry to speak.

He rolled up his sleeves and approached Gu Huiyan directly.

Both men were in their seventies, and the middle-aged man didn’t dare intervene, standing anxiously at the door until Si Fuqing arrived.

Finally seeing a savior, the man wiped his sweat and whispered, “Miss Si, Mr. Cai Zhongnian is here. He and the director started fighting because of you. Please go in and mediate.”

“They’re fighting?” Si Fuqing was taken aback. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

When she entered Gu Huiyan’s office, she saw Gu Huiyan and Cai Zhongnian engaged in an arm-wrestling match.

Si Fuqing was speechless.

They really knew how to amuse themselves.

Upon seeing her, both men immediately stopped and resumed their dignified appearances.

“Student, this wasn’t my idea,” Gu Huiyan said seriously. “It’s this Cai fellow who’s being unreasonable.”

Cai Zhongnian snorted. “You’re truly shameless.”

Ignoring Gu Huiyan, he turned to Si Fuqing, “Fuqing, your paper on cell transplantation has passed the final review. The medical organization is arranging for it to be published in a research journal. It should be out in the June issue, just in time before your college entrance exam.”

It was rare for a high school student to get featured in a medical organization’s special issue.

“Thank you, Elder Cai,” Si Fuqing nodded. “Thank you very much. How about I also study under you as a student?”

“I have more self-awareness than this old man,” Cai Zhongnian glanced at the grinning Gu Huiyan. “Although I don’t know where you learned your medical skills, it must have been from a great master. Compared to your teacher, I’m still lacking.”

Si Fuqing smiled. “As Confucius said, ‘Among any three people, there will be one I can learn from.’ Elder Cai, you have taught me a lot. It’s only right to call you my teacher, regardless of rank or status.”

Eternity Continent was a magical place where medicine was similar to traditional Chinese medicine, including pulse diagnosis and acupuncture, but it was more advanced than traditional Chinese medicine, however, it had no connection to Western medicine.

In terms of Western medicine and modern medical techniques, Cai Zhongnian had taught her a lot.

“No, no, I don’t want to be like Old Gu,” Cai Zhongnian said, waving his hand. “I’ll consider you a friend. I’m more distinguished than Old Gu.”

Si Fuqing did her best not to laugh. “Alright, Elder Cai, whatever you say.”

Having achieved his goal and taken a jab at Gu Huiyan, Cai Zhongnian left with his hands behind his back, humming a tune.

In the evening, at the Mo family residence.

Si Fuqing returned from the program.

The gaming pods were now set up, and Xi Jiang and Feng San had managed to get one each.

“Eternity Continent is quite dangerous, let Chen Ying guide you,” Yu Xiheng advised calmly. “Don’t wander around. Avoid all of the top ten forbidden zones.”

Xi Jiang nodded, curious, “What are the top ten forbidden zones?”
