Volume 17, Chapter 2: Intro - Unavoidable Path

Once again, this class is made to stand in front of the several problems plaguing them.

It’s unforgivable as a leader to just watch from the sidelines as the rotting progresses here and there.

That girl probably wants to solve everything by herself. Wanting to do things on your own isn’t a bad thing, but if you’re divorced from ability then it’s just idealism. No, even if you have the ablity to solve the problem, you can’t always deal with it on your own. Right now what’s in demand is trust in one’s comrades. Then to link up with each other and pick a path in coordination. From the weekend to today, I haven’t done anything to actually lend a hand. I finished looking at today’s news on my phone and stood up from my seat a little later than the droves of students leaving to play after school.

The man who was waiting for that quickly followed me.

I had seen that if he got flustered from not being able to take the first step to the solution then he would come to me.

“Um, Kiyotaka-kun. Could you make time tonight? I’d like to consult with you a little bit.”

He approached me and said with a small voice while paying attention to our surroundings.

“I plan to meet with Kei tonight. Can’t we have it now?”

I didn’t actually have such plans. I lied and looked at his reaction.

“That would be…”

Of course he wouldn’t say yes.

Yousuke has club. He can’t make free time right after school.

Once the sports festival gets closer club activities will temporarily be suspended, so he’ll probably want to participate as much as he can right now.

“I’m kidding. I’ll tell Kei. Our date can be next time.”

“Th-Thanks.”

“I’ll check one more time just to be safe, but you do have something to consult me about right?”

I knew but replied like that deliberately. Yousuke nodded with no suspicion.

“Yes. I think we should move quickly.”

magic “Okay. Anyway, if my room is fine then I’ll give you my time tonight.”

Like a child, Yousuke’s cheeks slackened and broke into a smile at my positive answer.

“If possible it’d be great if Karuizawa-san could be there with us. Is that fine?”

“Kei too? Of course she would probably be happy to be there, but will she not be in the way?”

“There are a few things we have to settle. I want to borrow her power, too.”

A lot changes depending on Kei’s presence, since she had access to the girls’ information network. I didn’t even have to ask to know that what Yousuke was trying to undertake had to do with Kushida, Shinohara and Haruka.

“Then… how about around 7:30?”

“That’s fine. I’ll be there on time.”

After narrowing his eyes happily, Yousuke started a brisk walk to his club.

If anyone had a problem he would extend his hand right away.

“The two problems with our class.”

Of course, there’s no helping this either. Since I’ve been the one until now to lend Yousuke a hand when he was troubled, I can’t avoid this.

It’s not easy to destroy what you’ve built up, but it’s unavoidable.

Now then. First of all, I’ll tell Kei to come to my dorm at 7:30.
