Chapter 263: Huo Yunting’s Brand of Caring II

Staying by his side was torture enough. If she cannot even choose how much she can eat, then maybe she should just leave this place.

“I’ll get it for you.” Seeing her like this made Huo Yunting soften up for some reason.

The way he looked so focused scooping more rice for her reminded Lu Zhaoyang of the days before her escape, when the man tried to please her in every way.

When the white porcelain bowl was placed in front of her again, Lu Zhaoyang studied the measly amount and sighed, too tired to continue arguing.

Since both she and Huo Yunting were absent from the office on the same day, “naughty” speculations began to fly around the office once again.

Lu Zhaoyang was used to it. She simply went to her desk and started up her computer.

Lin Yazhi sneaked a few looks at her but did not say anything.

Lin Yazhi thought that surely she must be overthinking this. Perhaps they went home to visit their elders together as siblings.

She knocked on her forehead to clear her head and then continued to scroll through the fashion directory of an online store.

With Sister Zhaoyang back, the president’s behavior became normal again. It was a relief for everyone in the office. She herself could finally work like normal again.

Ah, but the company’s annual ball is coming.

It’s called the annual ball, right? Yes, I’m sure of it.

Armed with a conversation topic, she finally found a reason to talk to Lu Zhaoyang. Lin Yazhi picked up her coffee cup and walked over to the head secretary’s desk.

“Sister Zhaoyang…”

“Yes?” Lu Zhaoyang was reading the proposal that Huo Yunting sent to her last night and responded without looking away.

“The annual ball is in a few days. Would you like me to help you pick your evening dress?”

A beauty like Sister Zhaoyang was the perfect model for her to experiment on!

Lu Zhaoyang had almost forgotten about the event. She considered the offer for a moment. “Alright, I’ll be counting on you then.”

It was a good excuse to procrastinate.

“Okay okay, I’ll pretty you up and make sure that you’ll be dazzling that evening!” Lin Yazhi spread her arms out excitedly and nearly hit the wall beside her.

She pulled her arms back carefully and laughed it off. “Sis, let’s have lunch together!”

“Sure, call me when it’s time.”

As long as she was eating in the staff cafeteria and not with Huo Yunting, it did not matter who she was eating with.

Lunch hour came. Lin Yazhi hooked her arm around Lu Zhaoyang’s and they both went to the cafeteria together. However, a frown crept onto her features when she noticed the food options.

“Why does everything look so plain?”

The chef spoke from behind the counter, “We received orders from the top earlier today. It’s actually harder to prepare plain dishes. So, ladies, what can I get you today?”

Lu Zhaoyang looked at the food when a scene popped into her head.

In it, Huo Yunting was sitting back in his sofa and speaking casually on the phone. “From now on, I want all the dishes in the cafeteria to be mild and healthy. How mild, you ask? As mild as possible!”

Lu Zhaoyang was speechless at the thought.

“Sister Zhaoyang? Sister Zhaoyang? Don’t just stare, make your order!”

Lin Yazhi’s voice pulled her back to reality. She felt that the truth was probably not too far off from her imagination.

This was just great. Now all the employees in the company were affected. If someone found out that she was the cause of this change in menu, she would probably become public enemy number one in the office…
