Chapter 251: 251、Ruthless Zhaoyang, so Ruthless

I’m pretty sure that we are having fever at a totally different place.

With her hormones anticipating an invasion, she entered the bathroom obediently, only to see Yunting leaving straight after her.

That twist was uncalled for, but she was spared for the night. That spelled good news.

The night passed peacefully as she blended completely with her silk blanket. The next morning she brushed her teeth. Staring at her reflection, she was feeling something amiss. Her long hair and striped pajamas remained messy even without him anyway. Her stamina was fully charged yet her spiritual self felt drained despite sleeping soundly the whole night.

She then shifted to the dining hall again. Seeing Huo Yunting slicing his French toast nonchalantly next to that table that was too small, she was out of satire to hurl at the man.

Huo Yunting initiated, “So, about last night…”

“I was fine!” She promptly cut him off, “Perfectly fine. Excellent sleep!” She wanted to keep the novel unrated for the morning at least.

Huo Yunting chuckled as he took the mug of hot milk on the table. Well, she had answered the question herself. There was no need to further inquire.

Breakfast was quiet as Lu Zhaoyang relaxingly had her toast. They decided to hit the road after breakfast, during which Zhaoyang froze at the empty parking lot as she remembered her car remaining at the pub last night. She looked at him helplessly.

“Now you know you need a husband.” Huo Yunting walked next to her and mocked her mischievously with the car key swinging around his finger.

“Never mind. I’ll walk myself. I can go to work just fine even as a widow.”

Man, look at his face. I just wish I have my car right now.

Huo Yunting swiftly went into the car and asked the driver to turn on the engine. He wound down the window, pulled down his sunglasses, passing her a stare, “You sure?”

“Never been so sure before.” She made an eyeroll.

“You’ll be late for work…”

“Isn’t being late for work my privilege, husband?” She then brisk-walked to the gate. The car sluggishly followed as it backed towards the gate. Huo Yunting, with the window remaining open, tailed his woman at a walking pace.

She groaned with her teeth grinding.

He totally did it on purpose!

Her Manolo high heels plunged into the thin layer of frozen puddle on the ground, as the cold breeze bit her ears. She could tell that snow was coming. It came pretty late that year. The wind continued knotting her nose as her breath began turning frosty. She pulled her flimsy scarf to cover half of her face.

That was when the dark car zoomed to her front and made a side turn, before the door was sprung open and the strong arm seized her again.

“The hell you’re doing, Huo Yunting? I have my Uber ready. What’s the point of this kidnap scene?” She turned her head towards Huo Yunting.

“Ruthless Zhaoyang, so ruthless.” He passed her a glance and closed his eyes. No word was heard from him and none of Zhaoyang’s words were heard either.

Zhaoyang was not sure it was whether his ignorance or the out-of-the-blue kidnap scene that enraged her more. She gave a heavy snort and cancelled her Uber ride, sending $12 into the drain at the last minute.

The car stopped by Thunderbolt Corp. The inertia was the saving call for Lu Zhaoyang as she jumped out of the car and walked a hundred meters away from the president immediately.

Imagine if Lin Yazhi saw me going to work with Huo Yunting after seeing what happened yesterday. I think even the janitor knows we are having something.

Huo Yunting laughed upon seeing the hare running away.

It doesn’t feel so bad to remain like this after all…

Zhaoyang got to the office and walked past the other secretaries putting on their mascaras. Lin Yazhi was browsing the net before she shut down the entire computer clumsily upon sighting Lu Zhaoyang. She went to take Zhaoyang’s cup and a filled teapot from the pantry. Like a waitress, she poured her beloved senior a cup of coffee apologetically, “Zhaoyang, please lecture me on my immaturity. It was all my fault—Forgive me.”

“It’s alright. I was not mad at all. But well, make sure you wipe your eyes clear the next time you get cray cray over your idol.” She then took a sip as a sign of accepting the apology.

It tasted a little plain though—like coffee, like pourer.

“I really didn’t know anything… ” The quick forgiveness only caused more guilt in her, “For starters, the idols—well we only know what they intend to let us know. An immature, self-absorbed, ignorant brat like me would only be the victim to these con artists.”

“Well, as long as you understand, you’re no longer that immature, self-absorbed and ignorant compared to before.” Lu Zhaoyang logged into her computer, planning to browse the news a bit.

“Thank you. How about we have a feast tonight? Taking it as my compensation! Dessert buffet? French cuisine? Italian? Anything for my beloved senior,” said Lin Yazhi, rubbing her palms with anticipation.
