Chapter 235: How Dare They Bully His Wife! III

“I’d like to just sit down and enjoy a proper meal, but I’m busy, so very busy!”

Huo Yunting was talking about something related to Lu Zhaoyang, but both of them kept their attention firmly away from each other.

They practically ignored each other like strangers.

Strangers might exchange the occasional glance, but these two were purposefully avoiding each other’s eyes.

“Alright, alright, take her with you, make sure to keep her busy!” Old Mrs Huo compromised in the end. She looked at Lu Zhaoyang and said, “You will behave when you are back at Thunderbolt Corp! Do not think about seeing Chen again! If I find that you’re up to something, I will make sure you regret it!”

Lu Zhaoyang was about to reply when Huo Yunting interrupted them.

“Grandma, I have to go.” Huo Yunting stood up and took a cursory glance at Lu Zhaoyang. “Let’s go.”

“It’s still so early, are you really in a rush?” Old Mrs Huo missed seeing her grandson and was unwilling to say goodbye so soon.

“You know that I’m busy.”

Huo Yunting had only one excuse. It was a good enough excuse that he did not need to explain any further.

Old Mrs Huo nodded in understanding and said to Lu Zhaoyang, “What are you still standing there for? Go pack your things!”

“Grandma, I don’t have time to wait for her to pack. We are leaving right now. I’ll make sure she has everything she needs when we are back in the city.”

Huo Yunting said and then turned to leave.

Lu Zhaoyang sighed quietly in relief for she had been miserable in the house. She turned to follow Huo Yunting without a word.

When they reached the front courtyard, Huo Yunting signalled her to leave the house first.

She was confused but did not argue as she stepped into his car.

Huo Yunting stood by the fountain in the middle of the courtyard, where four maidservants were sweeping the snow.

Suddenly, he snapped and waved to call for the butler. The latter immediately made a light jog toward him.

“Yes, Young Master?”

“Uncle Qin, if word gets out about how uncultured the servants of the Huo residence are, it would be demeaning to Huo Zhenning.”

Huo Yunting spoke with an even tone, but the maidservants in the courtyard heard him clearly. They moved awkwardly as they continued to work.

Butler Qin knew exactly what he meant. He was aware of how the maidservants were making things difficult for Lu Zhaoyang but had kept one eye closed about it because of how old Mrs Huo hated her.

Nevertheless, Lu Zhaoyang was the daughter of Huo Zhenning’s wife, the Eldest Young Miss of the family.

“Don’t worry, Young Master, I will give them a good lecture.”

“Lecture?” Huo Yunting laughed sharply and said, “I thought you would follow the basic rules of employment. If a servant acts against their employer and destroys furniture on purpose, they would all be fired.”

The maidservants inhaled sharply and could no longer stay out of the conversation. They looked pleadingly at Huo Yunting.

“We’ll never do it again, Young Master, please forgive us!”

“Young Master, Zhaoyang she… Ah, no, the Young Miss has made Madam very angry these days. We were only trying to teach her a lesson for being so disrespectful. We weren’t trying to be mean!”

“Sob—Young Master, it won’t happen again, please don’t fire us. My family depends on me to survive!”

Huo Yunting scratched his ear impatiently. He was not interested in their drama.
