Chapter 175: Cold Violence

Huo Yunting looked at her for a moment, and then moved the glass away from her without a word. “Warm milk!” He cried.

Soon, a maid brought in a cup of milk and presented it gracefully to Lu Zhaoyang. She sipped on it without hesitation.

To Huo Yunting, impressing a girl was effortless. He did not even have to do anything for women to flock to him.

The woman in front of him right now, however, was the only exception. The only he could subdue her was by making threats.

Huo Yunting had only just begun on his plate when Lu Zhaoyang put down her fork. She wiped her mouth and threw a flat glance at him. “Enjoy your dinner. The mood is better that way, trust me.”

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to check out the clothes you bought for me and see if you have good taste.”

Huo Yunting could hardly say no to that excuse, so he watched as Lu Zhaoyang left him at the dinner table.

Once she was gone, the dining area went quiet. The candle light flickered innocently.

Huo Yunting picked up his wine glass and said, “Turn on the lights!”

A second later, the entire mansion lit up.

The candles were useless now, replaced by their electrical successors. Huo Yunting continued to eat without a word.

When Lu Zhaoyang reached the bedroom, she threw a quick glance at the new additions in the wardrobe, and then went to the bathroom.

The wardrobe was stuffed with dresses and things. Who on earth taught him how to mollify a woman?

This is idiotic. What a waste.

When Huo Yunting entered the bedroom, she was in a loose bathrobe. The collar was slightly open, teasing with her seductive collarbone underneath. She was drying her hair with a white towel as she headed for the dresser.

An idea came to him, and he stepped forward.

Lu Zhaoyang saw his face and all the horrible thoughts that came with it through the mirror. He picked up the hairdryer before she could reach it.

“I heard that ladies on their period shouldn’t wash their hair at night. It’s not good for health.”

The hairdryer was loud, so Lu Zhaoyang could only barely hear him. She chuckled and said, “Don’t worry. If I really die without warning one day, it won’t be because I washed my hair while on my period.”

Huo Yunting burst into a smile. “Since when have you come to understand so much? That’s right. If you ever did die, it would be on our bed.”

Lu Zhaoyang frowned. Huo Chen’s reappearance had made even the thought of touching Huo Yunting unbearable. It was hard to continue speaking on the issue.

She gathered herself and grabbed the hairdryer from him to do the work herself. “Go and shower. I can take care of myself.”

Huo Yunting continued staying beside her as he studied her pale face. It looked as placid as a pool of stagnant water.

He was not the one person who could make ripples in her heart. Perhaps, the only thing he could do was rake up a storm.

“I hate you,” she had said. Everything about her now echoed the same sentiment.

Her indifference was deadly cold violence.

Lu Zhaoyang turned off the hairdfryer and walked past him.

She was too tired to play his games tonight.

She had just reached the bed when Huo Yunting hugged her around the waist from behind. He breathed by her ears as his fingers undid her bathrobe in familiar movements.

Lu Zhaoyang’s body tensed as she tried to stay calm. “Are you so desperate as to not mind the blood?”

“If you want to try it, I don’t mind.”

It seemed that she had come to associate him with sex and only sex. In fact, he only wanted to hug her and help her remove her bathrobe.
