Chapter 165: The Naked Truth III

“Y” stood for Yang, which was her name.

“Yang Yang, I’ve missed you.” Huo Chen ran a hand through her hair and said.

Lu Zhaoyang felt a moment of surreality when she heard that.

She sucked her lips in, knowing that he must have seen the scar there, as she did not want to talk about it.

Since she remained quiet, he continued gently, “What happened last night during the call? I didn’t hear your voice, so I got worried.”

“It’s nothing. I must have accidentally pressed something without noticing.”

As expected, he was asking about the call.

It was humiliating for her to tell him the truth!

“You’re still as clumsy as I remember. You’re so cute.”

Huo Chen never doubted her. His gaze turned softer still.

Lu Zhaoyang was not sure how to respond to him, considering that it was all a lie.

She was now wife to Huo Yunting. Her body was covered with marks that he left behind… She was no longer the pure Yang Yang that he once knew.

Huo Chen tucked a stray hair behind her ear. “Do you still remember my question to you that night? No matter what obstacles lie ahead, as long as we are together, I will face them with you. Please believe in me.”

Believe in him.

She always believed in him.

However…

“Yang Yang, I once promised you that we will get married after you graduate. I’m sorry for being late. Will you still give me that chance?”

Huo Chen kept his hand gently behind her ear, unwilling to break the physical connection. “Marry me, and I will protect you and love you for all eternity.”

He spoke so softly, but every word pierced her heart like an arrow.

Her first love, the man she loved the most was asking to marry her. She should be happy, but all she wanted to do was weep.

Finally, a well of emotions that she had kept to herself all this while burst out into the open.

She cried furiously like a broken dam. Tears rolled down uncontrollably.

She was almost wailing, and Huo Chen felt shocked and pained by it.

Her body shuddered as she suffered an emotional breakdown. “Sorry… I’m so sorry, Chen, but I’m filthy. I didn’t want to be with him, you have to believe me, I really didn’t want to be with him…”

Her heart belonged to him, and only him.

If Huo Yunting had not forced her to marry, she would have still been waiting for him.

Huo Chen reached out a hand to dry her face. The warm tears on his fingers made his heart ache.

He could not bear to see her crying.

Huo Chen took a step forward and embraced her. He could feel her body trembling, and that him feel even more heartbroken.

She continued to cry, leaving a damp spot on his chest. Gradually, her wailing receded into a quiet sob.

Huo Chen knew that this had all to do with that “man”.

He patted her gently on the back to ease her breathing. “We live in modern times now. Do you think I care more about you or your virginity?”

Upon hearing that, Lu Zhaoyang felt warmth spreading in her bitter heart.

“You dummy, I don’t blame you. I should have woke up earlier and be by your side to protect you.”

Once again, tears began to flow down her cheeks.

They were both standing so close to each other. She could smell the familiar scent of his body.

No matter how many years had passed, he was still the man who loved her the most.

Slowly, Lu Zhaoyang put her arm around his waist.
