Chapter 217  : Don’t Recognize Your Uncle?

Director Liu would never let go of such a good opportunity.

Director Liu immediately said to Tan Mo, “Don’t worry, I am experienced in filming all kinds of movie genres. Once your brother becomes an independent director, I will be his assistant director.”

Tan Mo: “…”

She had initially intended to ask Director Liu to give Tan Jinqi some tips and advice.

In order to deal with the rowdy actors…

She wasn’t so shameless as to request Director Liu to be Tan Jinqi’s assistant director.

Director Liu probably wouldn’t commit to all the menial work expected of an assistant director. He would be his assistant in name, lending his reputation to prop the team up.

But that was already quite good.

Director Liu had already made an offer, and Tan Mo wasn’t going to waste such a good opportunity.

She immediately clasped her hands together and glanced at Director Liu with expectant eyes. “Really?”

Who would be able to reject Tan Mo when she looked at them like this?

Director Liu nodded his head with a smile. “Yes. I understand your worries. Who would dare to step out of line if I showed my face? I can also settle all the issues with the team of stylists as well.”

A wide smile surfaced on Tan Mo’s face. “Thank you!”

Both Director Liu and Professor Zhao were dazzled by Tan Mo’s smile.

It was almost as though a real lotus flower had bloomed right before their eyes.

Tan Mo didn’t really care about how much she was being paid for being the scriptwriter; neither could she bothered about her remuneration as an adviser.

She did not lack anything in this respect.

She merely would like compensation for her work.

The greatest outcome of this was Director Liu’s promise to be the assistant director of Tan Jinqi’s first movie.

When the time came, many artists would take the initiative to contact Tan Jinqi once they heard that Director Liu was going to be the assistant director.

Tan Jinqi would not need to worry about casting the right actors.

“I shall head back to my room to write the script. One episode a day won’t be a problem. When the filming starts, around seven to eight scripts should be ready.” Tan Mo appeared to be full of motivation. She was bursting with enthusiasm.

Director Liu: “…”

He should have been happy that Tan Mo was so enthusiastic.

However, his thoughts were complicated.

Tan Mo was someone who wouldn’t act before she was sure of her success.

Once he had given her his promise, she had changed. It was a vast difference from the night before. Tan Mo seemed extremely motivated and driven right now.

Tan Mo picked up her tablet and stood up. Director Liu said, “You can’t keep using a tablet to write with. A computer would definitely be more convenient to use. I’ll get someone to purchase a computer for you. But the stores are not open right now.”

It was too early.

“If everything goes as planned, I’ll send a computer to you before noon.” Director Liu glanced at his watch.

The cost of a computer was nothing compared to continuing his filming on schedule.

Tan Mo had already saved him a whole lot of money and trouble by enabling him to continue filming per the schedule. He no longer needed to readjust the schedules of his actors or find replacements for them.

Tan Mo nodded her head. She didn’t turn down Director Liu’s offer.

She most certainly needed a computer as it would speed up her writing.

However, this meant that she didn’t have to rush today. She could head back and ruminate over the content of the second episode. Then she could continue writing once the computer arrived.

Professor Zhao and Director Liu left with Tan Mo.

When Shen Jingyi and Yuan Qishan realized that both Director Liu and Professor Zhao were leaving, they were no longer in the mood to continue eating their breakfast.

They quickly left as well.

They had confirmed that Tan Mo was both the adviser and the scriptwriter. There was no need for either of them.

They needed to find a way to retain a role for themselves.

The more Shen Jingyi thought about it, the more she felt that something was wrong with the way Director Liu and Professor Zhao had looked at them.

They’d probably already had their suspicions.

“Professor Zhao…” Shen Jingyi followed behind Professor Zhao. She called out to him the moment they stepped out of the restaurant.

Tan Mo saw someone turn the corner right in front of her.

She suddenly stopped in her tracks. She wondered if her eyes were playing tricks on her.

She remained rooted to the ground and rubbed her eyes like a dimwit.

When she opened her eyes once more, the person was still there.

The interior of the hotel was well-lit. With the bright lights illuminating the area, it was as clear as day.

On Tan Mo’s right, the hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows allowed natural sunlight to filter in from outside.

The sunlight that filtered through the windows appeared warm.

The light illuminated Wei Zhiqian’s face, causing him to appear as if he was surrounded by a haze.

Even when Wei Zhiqian walked up to Tan Mo, Tan Mo was still in a stupor. She stared at him blankly.

“Uncle?” Tan Mo voiced uncertainly.

Wei Zhiqian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He raised his brows and asked, “Why are you speaking with such uncertainty? What’s wrong? It’s only been one holiday, and you can’t even recognize your uncle?”

“Uncle!” Tan Mo was pleasantly surprised. She hugged Wei Zhiqian’s arm.

Once she had touched him, she finally believed that Wei Zhiqian was truly here.

It wasn’t a delusion that had manifested due to her lack of sleep.

“Why are you here?” Tan Mo was so happy that she was on the verge of sprouting wings.

“It’s Saturday, and I don’t need to be at the company. I don’t have classes to attend either, so I came to visit you,” Wei Zhiqian explained with a smile.

“Then…will you be able to stay till tomorrow?” Tan Mo looked at him with wide eyes and asked. “Or are you heading back today…?”

“I’ve booked a room for tonight at this hotel. I have an afternoon flight tomorrow.” Wei Zhiqian smiled as he looked down at her.

“That’s fantastic!” Tan Mo hugged Wei Zhiqian’s arm and rubbed her tiny face all over it.

This time, he was wearing a wool coat. His coat was exquisitely soft.

As Tan Mo rubbed herself all over his arm, she started to close her eyes.

If someone else had done this to him, Wei Zhiqian would have felt extremely annoyed.

However, he felt entirely free from worry when he saw how lovable Tan Mo was.

These days, he felt rather uncomfortable because Tan Mo had stopped acting so coquettishly toward him. It didn’t feel right.

“Uncle, you’re the best. You came here specially to find me.” Tan Mo raised her head which had been plastered on his arm. Then she sought his affirmation, “Right?”

Wei Zhiqian hadn’t come to visit her only because it was on the way to some business meeting, right?

This city wasn’t big. This filming village was what this city was most renowned for.

Even the airport had been constructed especially for the production crews who frequented this area.

He saw Tan Mo’s watery eyes staring at him. It was almost as though she would be hurt if he said no.

Wei Zhiqian didn’t know what spell this girl had cast on him.

He was actually unable to say anything that would make her sad.

However, he had really come especially to see her.

When he saw how she was still so attached and trusting of him, he felt that the trip had been worthwhile.

“Right.” Wei Zhiqian nodded his head.

He lowered his eyes and glanced at Tan Mo’s hands.

Suddenly, he paused.

His eyes shifted from Tan Mo’s face to her left hand.

A red patch had appeared on Tan Mo’s previously smooth and fair hand.

Tan Mo’s hands had always been exceptionally tender and white, so much so that it was almost dazzling to the eyes.

Hence, this red patch was offensively conspicuous.
