Krune felt weird to hear something like that.
"Wisp God?"
Cinty then laughed.
"Don't worry, it doesn't mean that he is a real god or anything. This is just how the wisp during his time came to call him. It wasn't something that he chose himself, but a nickname that the other wisps gave him. According to the records, in fact, he pretty much hated that name. But it didn't stop the other wisps from calling him like that anyway."
Krune nodded and then asked something else.
"You said that his nine disciples have all reached the Divine Path Realm, does it mean that Wally and his disciples have all ascended?"
Cinty shook her head.
"The only one who ascended, in the end, was Wally. His disciples were caught in the middle of the war for the Dalin Universe and perished. Oh, right! Do you know about the war that the other great Universes started to conquer the Dalin Universe?"
Krune, Feifei nodded. They had heard about it from Cilia back in the Divine Path Sect. Later, Krune and Feifei told Ruik and Tiane about this event as well. As for Dilo, as someone who lived in this Universe, he had long since known about that.
"That was it. They fought to protect the Wisp Race. In fact, they couldn't care less whether Dalin was conquered or not, all they did was protect the wisp worlds in a long-gone Solar System. Unfortunately, in the end, they still perished."
Ruik then asked.
"So, what happened with the wisp race?"
Cinty then continued.
"Wally's nine disciples had been defending the wisp worlds without many issues for a few years. They even released the news that they didn't care about who governed the Dalin Universe. As long as no one attacks their wisp worlds, they will not interfere in the war."
"They were really a force to be recognized, each one of them had a Major Core. So no other force could simply ignore it. In the end, because of a well-laid plot. The nine of them were trapped and killed by a coalition of several other powers of the other great Universes."
"Even though they said that they didn't care, the fact was that they were too strong together. The other great Universes that were conquering the Dalin Universe were afraid that if they intervened in a critical moment, they would have to pay a high price. So they decided to get rid of them first."
"But who could have thought that the death of all nine of them would alert Wally in the realm above? As soon as they died, a gigantic Spiritual Pressure descended in the place where that colation fought the wisps. Even those at the Divinity Realm, be it cultivators or demon beasts, could not resist it at all. It only took a few seconds, and the entire coalition died to that Spiritual Pressure."
Cinty then looked at Krune and the others with a severe expression.
"What I'm going to say now is not a secret, but you better not spread it around so that it won't bring more problems to our Wisp Race."
Krune's group nodded. By this time, they were way too curious to let it go.
Cinty took a deep breath and continued.
"Our wisp race is considered quite a pitful one, that is true. We have minimal life spans, and almost no cultivation techniques work for us. Even the one that I'm using now is considered at most as a 'not too bad' one. Because of that, it is almost impossible to reach the Divine Path Realm where the immortality resides."
"But thanks to Wally, all the big powers in the other Universes came to know something else. Wisps that have surpassed the Divinity Realm and ascended can also descend into their home Universe without paying any price. From there, they can go anywhere they want. Or at the very least, Wally could."
Krune and Feifei were taken aback by that new info. In fact, there was one more being that felt even more shocked, Light Spirit!
"Impossible!"
Krune heard that voice in his mind and knew that Light Spirit was deeply affected by those words.
Krune then said.
"Wait a minute, please. Let me organize my thoughts before you continue."
Cinty didn't know what he wanted to think about but nodded nonetheless.
"Okay, tell me when you want me to continue."
Krune thanked her and then closed his eyes. But in fact, he was talking with Light Spirit.
"What's the problem? Why did you shout that out of nowhere?"
Light Spirit explained.
"Didn't you see the state that Cilia and I are at the moment? My body was stolen, and Cilia had to put her soul inside that tower in the Divine Path Sect. It could be said that those were one of the prices for cultivators like us to descend from the realm above. Our cultivation is too high, that's why the lower realm rejects us and send us to the next. That's how it works."
"I believe that I don't need to tell you just how much weaker Cilia and I became just because of that alone, right? It's not like it's impossible to descend, but you must pay the price! This is a truth for all races, humans included. Things like having your dantian or core damaged or your cultivation severely affected can be considered as being lucky already. Death is most likely the outcome for anyone who tries it."
"If that Wisp called Wally can really descend without paying any price, then this is too heaven-defying! Can you imagine the implications of someone above the Divinity Realm entering and staying in the lower realms?"
Krune was astonished after hearing that.
"Wouldn't Wally be pretty much invincible?"
Light Spirit disagreed.
"Not exactly, but he would indeed be tough to kill. Still, let's finish listening to what Cinty has to say. I believe I have an idea about what happened after the Wisp God descended."
Krune agreed with Light Spirit and opened his eyes again.
"I'm done. Can you continue now, please?"
Cinty felt that something wasn't right, but she couldn't exactly put her hands on it.
"Very well."
"Being able to descend into the lower realms without paying any price is really a terrifying thing. Even more when the other powers found out that their coalition had killed all the disciples of that wisp. They immediately understood that they were in for a calamity. In the end, they had no choice other than trying to communicate with their ancestors who had already ascended."
"Although this is a hard thing to do, it is still possible as long as you have the right means. The Universes that took part in the wisp killing plot were especially on their wit's end, so they disregarded everything and forced communication with their ancestors."
"I don't know what they discussed. Still, while the Wisp God, Wally, was in the Dalin Universe wiping out the other Universes' forces, the ascended ancestors of the other Universes descended as well. Of course, different from Wally, they had to pay the price for this descent. From what was left in the records, at least half of those ancestors died as soon as they arrived in the Lower Realms."
"Still, they couldn't simply leave Wally be, so they gathered the ones who were successful in not dying and entered the Dalin Universe together. But who could have thought that Wally was that strong? He wasn't just strong because he didn't have to pay the price, he was strong even before he descended! The incredible thing is that no one had ever paid attention to him, so they were taken with their guards down."
"The battle continued for an entire month. In the end, Wally and those ancestors reached an agreement. The wisp race will always have a place in the Dalin Universe where they shall not be touched as long as they haven't provoked the other part first. In exchange, Wally would drop their feud and not touch the cultivators and demon beasts of the lower realms anymore. As for wisps of other universes, their status would be kept the same way it has always been for them in those places."
How could Krune and the others not be in awe with such a story? It took quite some time for them to process all that information.
Krune heard Light Spirit saying after.
"As I thought. So they really reached an agreement. That was to be expected. After all, Wally was just one wisp alone. Even though he was strong and could descend without any issues, he couldn't keep fighting alone eternally."
Krune looked at Cinty and then commented.
"If I'm not wrong, Wally couldn't possibly defend the wisps forever. As strong as he could be, he was still only a single wisp. Am I right to say that those ancestors from the higher realms used this to force Wally to stop his rampage?"
Cinty sighed and then nodded.
"Correct. That was indeed the reason why Wally was forced to accept those terms. He was alone. If the ancestors of the higher realms decided to call all their forces without caring for the damage, even Wally wouldn't be able to do anything, and would probably die in the end. If that happened, the wisps would definitely become a wanted race that has to be eliminated at the very first sight."
"Although it would be impossible to completely eliminate the wisp race due to its way of being born, we would have no more hopes of having a peaceful life or a chance to cultivate. Wally couldn't condemn the entire wisp race because of his own revenge."
It was then that Krune thought about something.
"Couldn't Wally simply enter the underworld and bring his disciples' souls back? Someone at his level should have no problem doing that, no?"
Cinty shook her head.
"In that battle where his disciples died, the enemy made sure to eliminate them entirely. So even their souls have been completely obliterated."
Krune felt sad after hearing it. He can only imagine how he would feel if he found out that Lakin died like that.
Dilo got even more curious and then asked.
"What happened with Wally after that?"
Cinty shrugged her shoulder.
"All I can say is that he didn't return to the Higher Realms."
Krune nodded.
"That is to be expected. If Wally returned, the forces there would definitely hunt him down. After all, they wouldn't need to be afraid of backslashes. To keep himself safe and prevent the other universes from starting a full scale wisp hunting, he had to stay here where he has the advantage."
Krune then thought about something but didn't say it.
'But... that also means that both sides are still in an impasse.'
Ruik looked once again to that big spec of light that represented Wally and asked.
"Is it not possible to see how he looks? You know, like the other wisp kings and queens?"
Only now did Cinty remember that issue.
"Oh, sorry. It's just that Wally's aura is still inside, so we keep it sealed to prevent it from disappearing like the others. But if it is just for a moment, that's not a problem."
Cinty then drew a different seal with her Spiritual Energy on the air and sent it over. The seal protecting Wally's spec of light disappeared, and everyone could finally take a look at how Wally looked like.
But while everyone was paying attention to his image as a wisp and human form. Krune and Light Spirit felt like the world was turning upside down after feeling that aura. In the end, both of them shouted at each other.
"It's him!"
