Chapter 801: Gods Are Finally Kind (Part 1)
Soon after, they plucked the feathers off the carcass and sliced it open with the surgical knife.
They carefully removed its organs and washed it clean.
The entire carcass was sliced into pieces. In the process, they also collected half a bottle of its blood.
This was all done by Bai Qinghao.
As expected, things were always better when her husband was there to care for her.
The two of them could not bear to touch the remaining blood and decided to save it.
Fang Xinxin then picked up a piece of the raw meat. She bit into it and immediately spat it out in disgust. “Ew, ew, it’s so bad!”
Bai Qinghao watched her in heartache. “The sun is bright right now. The wind is also strong. Let it dry up a little first so that it will be more palatable.”
“En.” She could only wait for the raw meat to dry up before eating it again.
The two of them relied on the meat and blood they had collected, as well as some morning dew, to survive for the next two days.
After nine days, at midnight, the ocean became extremely fierce. Every wave that swept past them pulled them beneath the surface.
They relied on the life jacket and their willpower to break the surface each time.
The humid air however, left Bai Qinghao and Fang Xinxin panting in anticipation. It seemed like it would soon rain.
As expected, thirty minutes later, a heavy rainstorm appeared.
They opened their mouths in excitement and cupped their hands together to drink, thoroughly satisfying their thirst.
Finally, they could stop worrying about water for some time.
When they were thoroughly satiated, Bai Qinghao tossed away most of the things in the first aid kit.
He had mostly recovered from his wounds. It was more important to collect rainwater right now.
He saved a few fever reducing pills and some of the medicine for wounds in a small ziploc bag.
The bottle of rubbing alcohol was emptied and washed with rainwater before being filled up.
The other two emptied bottles were also filled up.
The enormous first aid kit itself could likely hold ten kilograms of water.
With a proper reserve of water, they would survive for the next few days.
The first aid kit would remain afloat without any of their efforts. Even the three bottles of rainwater could be properly shut close.
Fang Xinxin tore a portion of Bai Qinghao’s shirt into strips and tied the bottles to the first aid box.
This way, the remaining water would not be a burden to them.
After all their work, like a cruel joke, the rain ensued for two days and two nights.
The powerful raindrops smashed against their skin painfully. They could barely keep their eyes open.
At times, Bai Qinghao would reach his hands out to protect his wife. It was a pity that his efforts barely made a difference.
Due to the enormous rainstorm, the waves were also powerful. At times, it would sweep them twenty meters away and at times, it would toss them upwards.
They could only embrace each other tightly. They refused to separate even in death.
Otherwise, with the current circumstances, if they separated, a single wave would send them hundreds of meters apart.
After remaining adrift for days and barely surviving, they were both exhausted. It would be impossible for them to swim towards each other once more.
The rain was relentless and not a single bird was in sight.
Although the rain at times lightened and seagulls flew by, they were too far for the two of them to do anything.
Finally, the rain finally ceased. It had been three days since they last ate.
This time, they were not dying of thirst. Instead, they were starving to death.
They could only drink some of the rainwater they had saved up, to fill up their stomachs.
Just as they were about to start hallucinating due to hunger, they saw an island from afar.
